The s.s. Lord Ashley steams for Wellington at noon this day, with the outward mails for Europe, &c. Colonel Harrington's Command. —We are informed that the district placed under the command of Colonel Harrington extends from the East Cape to Tauranga. Stealing a Watch —Attheßesident Magistrate's Court, on Fridny last, a man was sentenced to 6 months' imprisonment, with hard labor, for stealing a watch, the property of one of the Colonial forces. The Financial Debate.—The debate on the financial i esolutions of the Government is arranged to comei off on Tuesday (tomorrow.) It is believed that the work of the sessionj will be over in about a month. The Movements of the Troops. —Notwithstanding the paragraph which we give in another place from the Taranaki Herald, the removal of the 18th Regiment from the Colony was reported in Wellington up to Saturday night as likelv to be carried out. The Weather.—The heavy rain mentioned in our last issue, which commenced on the previous day, continued throughout the next two days, when it gave place to more genial wearher. There were some overflows of the rivers in the district, but we have not heard of any extensive da mage done, which a few more days T-ain would have rendered inevitable As it was the roads have suffered considerably, and some were almos impassable for a time.
