The Provincial Council will sit this afternoon at 3 o'clock. Holiday.—To-day being her Majesty Queen Victoria's birthday, will be observed as a public holiday. Wool in the London market is still on the decline, owing to the enormous increase in supply. A Meeting of directors of the ITawke's Bay Brewing Company is convened tor this day, at 2.30 p.m, The barque Memento, which arrived at "Wellington from London on the lGth inst,, has on board a quantity of cargo for this port. The English March Mail arrived here by the s.s. Lord Ashley on Saturday last. T3ie crowded state of our columns this morning precludes us from giving any extracts. Napier Lodge, 1.0.0. F., M.U.— The anniversary of the above Lodge, will be celebrated by a ball, to takeplace this evening in the Oddfellows' Hall. Dancing to commence at half-past eight o'clock.
