The Colonial Government gun-boat Sturt, Captain Fairchild, arrived in port on the evening of Thursday last. She left Auckland on the sth instant, and has visited Tauranga, Matata, Opotiki, Hicks' Bay, Tologa Bay, Poverty Bay, and Wangawehi, which latter place she left at 9 a.m. on Thursday last. Had strong S.W. winds across the Bay, and arrived here at 7 p.m. Arrival of the s.g. Ahuriri. The New Zealand Steam Navigation Company's fine s.s. Ahuriri, Captain Flowerday, left Auckland Rt 4 p.m. on Wednesday, 12th May; rounded the East Cape at 7 p.m. on the 13th; and arrived here at 3 p.m. on Friday last, May 14. Was brought in as far at the point, and discharged cargo (as per imports), and steamed for Wellington at 9 p.m. The Ahuriri cleared with 20 bales of wool; these, however, for some reason or other, were not shipped. The brig Maggie, Captain Arnold, arrived at Newcastle, N.S.W., on the 29th April, 16 days from Napier, having left this port on the 13th ultimo.
