TAUPO.
A despatch lias been received from Captain Moorson, commanding the Bay of Plenty Volunteer- Cavalry* announcing his ariival with 57 men at Harariri, a place on the Rangitaiki River, about 20 miles from Ahikirenij and about the same distance from the advanced post of our scouts at Rimanga. He had not heard of Colonel Whitmore, who, on the 22nd of April, was marching up towards Ahikireru from Te Ava o te Atua, lower down the valley of the Rangitaiki. Captain Moorson had come across the country from Tauranga by Tararuru Lake, and no doubt has by this time opened up communication with Whitmove's force. Several despatches have already been sent to Colonel "Whitmore via Taivpo, and we may expect now to have constant and rapid information of the progress of the campaign against the Uriwera natives. All was quiet at Taupo a few days ago, and no parties of the rebels had been seen about the plains.
