"NEW ZEALAND WARS," BY CHARLES.
FLINDERS HURSTHOUSE. At a time like the present, when the most gross ignorance of the aftairs of this Colony is exhibited by many of the leaders of public opinion in the Mother Country, it is. a source of gratification to find that there are a few disinterested individuals who,, themselves knowing the true state of the case, make vigorous efforts to geminate to the best of their ability this information, and remove existing; prejudices. Among such stands theauthor of the little work, the title of which stands above. Himself an old colonist, and one well acquainted with all the actual details of the several native outbreaks, as well as the merits of the question between the Colony and Great Britain : he in this work, which was first published in the Times, places the whole subject before the English reader in a clear and succinct manner—such as we think will carry conviction to many. We cannot to-day do more than acknowledge the receipt of the, pamphlet, but we shall take the earliest opportunity of noticing it more at length. •
