AUCKLAND LIVE STOCK MARKET. Messrs Carey & Gilles Live Stock Report for the week ending 23rd April:— The market was not so well supplier! this week with provincial fat stock, hut there was a full number of Australian cattle brought forward, realised prices ranging? about the same as last week's quotations, from 8 / to 3s/ ty I'Hift. The second draft of the Island City's cattle from Queensland so d readily, best qnalitv bringing late prices. There was a, lull supply of sheep, whica were placed without any material change in prices, heavy sheep sellinz readily; merino* not in such favor, particularly store merinos, which it is very difficult to quit at anything like a paying price to the shipper. store cattle were lower this week, but met with many purchasers. Good milch cows are always saleable at satisfactory rates. At the Junction Yards, on Wednesday, the 21st of April, we obtained the following prices:— Fat Cattle:—The second draft of the Island City's cattle sold at £8 6/ to £lO 17/i, being an average of about 30/ f- 100 ft. Some of those in low condition wont to the grazier. Provincial beer realised 34/ to 3?/ f lOOlh. Store cattle sold at £4."/ up to £7 IS/ for provincialj and Australian bullocks, £6 1C/ up to £7 10/. Fat Sheep:—64o sheep were penned and sold: ?0'» ex star of the South from Napier, realising from 8/ up to !/;>; 10:7, ex star of the South, from Napier, ti/s); provincial merino wethers, from V'l'i to 11/ii. There wore no half-bieds in this week. store sheep, ex Star of the South, were placed with difficulty at f/ to 5/.j. Pigs realised very wood prices, being freely competed lor, and selling at about \6 f- lb.
