Ahuriri. The New Zealand Steam Navigation Company's s.s. Ahuriri, Capt. Flowerday, left Auckland at 3.30 p.m. on Saturday last, and arrived here at 10 a.m. on Monday. The same evening at 8 o'clock she steamed for Bl ickhead to the relief of the steamer Lyttelton, which was lying windbound t\\e re. Arrived at Blackhead at (>.30 a.m. on Tuesday ; em. barked 45 of the Armed Constabulary Force, together with luggage and ammunition, and left for Napier at 10 o'clock the same morning. Experienced strong gale and very heavy sea from N.N.E. up the coast, and arrived here at 7 o'clock yesterday morning. The Ahuriri, with the Corsrabulary on board, steamed for Wairoa at 9 o'clock last evening. Arrival of the Star of the South. The favorite s.s. Star of the South, Captain W. Bendall, arrived in harbor at 5 o'clock on the evening of Tuesday last, 27th April. The Star left Napier at 3.30 p.m. on Tuesday, 20th instant, under Government orders, and anchored off Poverty Bay at 2 o'clock next morning. Sent despatches on shore for Major Westrupp. Went on to Tuparoa, but owing to the great surf could not communicate with the shore. Arrived off Kawakawa at 9 pm. on the 21st, and landed three Maori passengers. Started for the Bay of Plenty, and met the s.s. St. Kilda off Te Kaha Point. Sant despatches on board for the Hon. Mr Richmond, who was a passenger. Parted company at 330 a.m. on the 22nd, and anchored off Whakatane at 7 a.m. the same day, and remained there two hours. Went on to Matamata and land d about 100 sheep. Steamed away at 4.30. p.m., and arrived at Auckland on the 23rd, at 12.30 p.m. Landed 850 sheep, and took on board a general cargo for this port. Left Auckland at 10 a.m. on Sunday, 25th inst. Experienced strong N.E. gale with heavy sea throughout the passage. Anchored at Mahia at 5 a.m. on the 27th, and landed 31 oil casks at the whaling station. Left again at 11 a.m. the same day, and arrived in port as above. The Star will take on board a cargo of cattle and sheep, and leave for Auckland again on Saturday next, at 10 a.m.

Miscellaneous. Tiie weather has been very boisterous during the lust day or two. On Tuesday last a strong N.E. pale set in, causing a very heavy sea in the Bay. The gale still continues, though not quite so strong as on Tuesday nip-lit. The brigantine Mary Ann sailed for Auckland on Monday last, with a cargo of wool, tallow, wheat, old metal, &c, as per export. The s.s. Wellington, due from Auckland on or about Friday (to-morrow), 30th April, will leave for Wellington and Southern Ports shortly after arrival. The s.s. Lord Ashley may be expected to arrive from Auckland on Sunday next, 2nd May, and will steam for Wellington the same day, with the English Mail via Suez. The p.s. Lyttelton, which vessel has been lying windbound at Blackhead since Sunday last, may be expected to arrive here as soon as the weather moderates. She will then, we learn, be despatched to Wairoa with stores. The ship Wild Duck took her departure from Wellington for Loudon on the 11th inst., with a cargo valued at over £40,000, and consisting principally of wool and general merchandise.
