TnE 5.3. Star of the South, Captain Bendall, -left Auckland at 2 a.m. on Thursday, the 15th April, arrived at Tauranga at 6 p.m. the same day, Landed Colonel Whitmore, Captain Svvindly, and 100 men of the Armed Constabulary. At 8 p.m. the same evening proeeeded to Te Papa to jand 12 horses .and about 10 tons of stores. Left Tau>anga at noon on Friday and experienced strong southerly winds and heavy sea, arriving hd,e at 8 a.m. on Sunday, the 18th April. The s.s. Ahnriri, Captain Flowerday, left Wellington, at 230 p.m. on Saturday, experienced jfinc weather throughput the passage, arriving in port at 1-30 p.m. ' As we go to press the Lord Ashley is signalled £rom the North.
