The Otago sails for Japan; the Tararua leaves on the 15th for the Bluff; and the Gothenburg on! the 27th for New Zealand. The; Mataura proceeds to London via Wellington, not via Melbourne. Flour quoted at £l2 10/; fine wheat, 5/; oats in better favor—a parcel of 8,000 bushels brought 3/8. Sugars firm at advance recently established.
! January 12. Steamer in this morning from Wanganui ; no news. Colonel Lyon was to start to-morrow (Wednesday) with his cavalry on a reconnaissance. Arrived—B a.m , Wanganui from Wanganui; 8.40 a.m., Bangatiia from Wanganui; 10.30 a.m., Wellington from Napier; 7.15 p.m., Ahuriri from Napier.
January 13. Arrived —11 a.m., H.M.S. Blanche from Napier; 6 p.m , Stort from Napier. Sailed—3.ls p.m., Wellington for Lyttelton; 6 p.m., St. Kilda for Napier; Ahrrriri for Wanganui; Rangatira for Wanganui.
Sydney, January 4. The Panama Mail Service is considered finally stopped, the Government having accepted (he surrender of the contract.
