THu Colonial Government gun-boat Sturt, Captain yairchild, left Poverty Bay at midnight on Wednesday, experienced line weather down the coast, and arrived in port at 12.30 p.m. on Thursday. Having coaled, &c, the Sturt left for Wairoa, there to ship horses for the use of the Colonial Forces at Poverty Bay. H.M.'s steam ram Blanche, and the 8.8. Aburiri were both at Poverty Bay when the Bturt left. The Blanche was expected to leave for Napier shortly. The Colonial Government gun-boat St. Kilda, Captain Fox, from Wairoa, arrived in port at 2 p.m. on Friday last, with 150 friendly natives under Henfire Tomoana. Since her departure from Napier on Tuesday last, the 6t Kilda has experienced very heavy weather, in consequence of -which had to seek shelter at Waugawehi for 30 -hours. The St. Kilda steamed for Wellington at 7 pro. on Friday last.

The s.s. Star of the South, Captain Bendall, with a general cargo and 19 passengers, arrived here at 4 o'clock on Saturday morning. She left Auckland at 10 p.m. on Wednesday last, rounded the East Cape at 4 a.m. on Friday, and arrived hero as above. Experienced fine easterly weather during the passage. / The Panama Company's steamship Pbcebe, under command oi our old acquaintance Captain A. Kennedy, arrived in the roadstead at 4 o'clock yesterday afternoon. She left Wellington at 1.30 p.m. on Saturday. Experienced heavy S.E. swell as far as Cape Turnagain ; from thence light variable winds and smooth water. Although advertised to leave for Auckland to-day, the Phcebe took her departure at 8.30 o'clock last evening. H.M.'s steam ram Planche, Capt. Mougomerie, arrived in harbor at 8 o'clock yesterday morning, bringing a few additional items of news from Poverty Bay. which will be found elsewhere. The ketch Eagle, G. Loverock, master, left Auckland on the 29th December, hound for the Bay of Islands to ship a cargo of coal for Napier; hut owing to having experienced heavy weather from the N W., run into the Great Barrier, where 3he shipped 70 tons firewood. Left for Napier on tbo 4th January; experienced fine weather from W. and N., and arrived in port at 6 o'clock last evening.
