SPIT IMPROVEMENTS.
We observe that the new wharf of Messrs Watt Brothers is completed, and this together with that of the Government, so recently finished, supplies all that is needed in that wav for the inner harbor. Ws notice also that a great improvement is being made in the elevation of the level of Custom House-street, leading by the
Post-office to the new wharf, where the level of the old road has been TaISC d considerably, and is now rapidly being covered with a coating of metal. If this work be continued along Wag-born-street, from the pilot station | eastward, it will be a great benefit, as ! it will prevent ilib iiiconvciiieiice we have hitherto experienced from ffouds during high anrinff tid«« ».v t> Cl - -r O = j keeping back tiie fljw of the high tides , from over the roadway. 1
