ACQUATICS.

Two boat races came off in the roadstead yesterday morning. The day was beautifully fine, and great interest seemed to be taken in the sport, —large numbers of people having congregated on the beach near the pilot station. The first race was between Mr Byrnes’ ‘ Caroline,’ steered by Captain Trimmer, of the schooner ‘Success’ ; and Mr Ferguson’s ‘ Dreadnought,’ steered by Master William Stuart. This race was an easy one for the * Caroline.’ The second race was between the ‘ Caroline,’ with the same steersman; and the steamer ‘ Cleopatra’s ’ boat, steered by Captain Edwards, of the schooner ‘ Onward.’ Again the victory was an easy one for the ‘ Carry,’ which boat bad evidently the best crew. We believe plenty of money changed hands on both events.
