THE MURDER AT THE BUTLER.
aitheiiexsiom of the supposed MURDERER, Captain Carkt, of the s.s. Kennedy, ahicli arrived yesterday evening from the Grey and Duller, gives us the intelligence that the detective at Wes;part informed him of the apprehension of the perpetrator of tiie late murder at Deadmau’s Creek, whose capture was effected about two | hours before the Kennedy left. The man was taken opposite the Court-house, West'port, being recognised as having left the Duller, “ hard up,” in company with the murdered man, and having been known To have bought himself into a heavy claim | very shortly afterwards. On being interrogated as to what had become of his 'mite, he replied that he (the murdered itnan) had parted company with him, and had gone away with two strangers. —Colo* 1 nigt, September 20.
