Dead Cody Found.—The dead body of a man was found on the banks of the Pctane river on Fri-iay, 7th instant. An inquest was held on the 9th instant, and, from the evidence taken it would appear that the body was that of one of the natives killed in the fight at Petane on tho 12tu October last. The following veidict was returned by the jury ; —“We are of opinion that deceased, an aboriginal native, died from gunshot wounds received in action on the 12th October last, and that his body has been washed awav from the burial place in consequence of the recent floods.”
