PANAMA MAIL SERVICE.
To Chief Postmasters, Postmasters, and SubPostmasters. T>- oonscqucncs of an arrangement effected with the Directors of the Panama Railroad Company, the New Zealand postage on newspapers conveyed by that route will be reduced from threepence to one penny each. No alteration will take place in the foreign rates, accounted' for by this department to London and Panama, on newspapers addressed to foreign countries. Corrected tables of rates will be furnished as soon as they can be got ready; in the meantime pfistmasters will he guided by the present table, taking care that twopence is deducted from the present rates as enumerated in the table now in their possession. Postmasters will bring the above alteration into immediate operation, and give every possible publicity.
