Medicines. S'CJEE MEDICINES IN VOGUE SEW AND MOST VALUABLE MEDICINES FOE HITHEETO INTRACTABLE AND INCCEABIS DISEASES. No MOHS Cod-lives Oil.— Syrup o lodized Horseradish, of Giumault & Co. Chemists, Paris. According lo the certificates of the Physicians cf tho Paris Hospitals detailed in the prospectus, and with the approbation of suvtnii Academies, this Svrup ia employed with tho greatest success in place of Cod-liver Oil, to which it is really superior. It cures disease of the chest, scrofula, lymphatic disorders, green sickness, muscular atony, and loss of appetite; it regenerates the constitution by purifying tho blood ; and is, in a word, the most powerful depurative known. It never fatigues the stomach and bowels like tire iodide of potassium and the iodide ol iron, and is administered with the greatest efficacy to young children subject to humors or obstruction of the glands. Dr Caeenave, of Saint Louis Hospital, Paris, recommends it particularly in cutaneous diseases, conjointly with the pills which bear his name. Co., Chemists.—This new medicine, which is delicious to the palate, is a sovereign remedy for coughs, colds, irritation of the lungs, and is also an excellent remedy in cases of consumption. Under its iuiiuenco the cough abates, nocturnal perspirations cease, and the patient rapidly recovers health and llesh. No mode Indigestion oe Dyspepsia. —Llixir of Pcpsine, prepared by Geimault Sc Co., Chemists. Pcpsine is the gastric juice itself, or rather the purified active principle which digests food in the stomach. When from various causes the supply of the digestive Iliad is too small, the inevitable consequences are bad digestion, gastritis, gastralgia, inllammation of the mucous coat of tiie stomach and bowels, heartburn, ancemea, loss ot strength, and in females general derangement. The Elixir of Pcpsine, which is sanctioned by the approbation of the Paris Academy of Medicine, speedily cures ail such diseases,and prevents vomiting during pregnancy. From observations made in the Paris Hospitals and (retailed in tire Prospectus, it is iupenor to ferruginous pills, lactate ol ron, iron reduced by hydrogen, pills and Syrups of tiic lodide of Iron, and cures rapidly stomach complaints, painful digestion, poverty of the biood, loss oi strength and appetite and the diseases incidental to females. It is tho best adjunct to Cod Liver Oil, and the best preserver of health in tropical climates.
