Herald. ADELAIDE. Jan. 21, 6 p.m. Over 200,000 bushels of wheat have been purchased up to the present time for shipment to England. Tke ‘Arab Steed’ has been chartered, and there several inquiries for suitable vessels. The market is raeher quiet to-day ; there have been sales of wheat at 4<s od for immediate delivery; flour remains at £lO 10s to £ll 10s. LONDON WOOL REPORT.—Ist Dec., 1860. ■The sales now in progress, which commenced on November 15, are arranged to terminals on December 8. The arrivals in time for this scries consisted of —Sydney, 6336 bales;' Port Philip, 4931; Van Diemen’s. Land, 1039; Adelaide, 3331 ; New • Zealand, 3970; Cape, 43,703 — 63,799 bales; held over, 7000 bales ; total, 69,799 bales. Prices opened fully supporting those established at August sales for most descriptions ; Cape being in large supply sold at Id cheaper, while Sydney | ’ fleece "brought for the first few days about Id more; this advance has been lost, and is now just the closing rates of July-August series. New Z.-alaud has sold well and with spirit, but no advance can be quoted. The depressed state of Bradford and rapid fall . in English wools, from the highest point reached, has caused considerable caution; and combing wool, although in moderate supply, is found with wools held over and in second hands to be ample for the reqniremenis of tire trade, particularly when the new wool is expected to be offered early next year. This feeling has led many of the spinners to buy only for immediate wants, rather than have old wool in stock to compete with the new Clip. Oar market is firm, and bids are made freely, but, tee word in hand is ample, indeed, with the pmord rate of consumption, more than sufficient to meet probable, requirements before March next, when a large quantity of the new clip is expected.
