Chief Post Office, Napier, 31st December, 1866. Mails Close— Por the United Kingdom, via Panama, also for the British American Colonies, the United States, and other countries of North and South America, the mails for conveyance per Royal Mail Steamship Mataura, from Welwill close at the Chief Post Office in Napier, on Tuesday, (to-morrow), Ist January, 1867, at 10 a.m. at the Branch Office, ShakespearC-road, and 11 a.m. at the Chief Post Office, Eastern Spit. 83' Registered Letters received, and Money Orders granted up till dye o'clock this evening Por Tauranga and Auckland, per Panama, New Zealand, and Australian Eoyal Mail Company’s steamship Lord Ashley, on Thursday, 3rd January, 1867, at eleven a.m. PETEE BOUEKB, Chief Postmaster. NEW RATES OF POSTAGE. The following rates of postage come into force on and after Tuesday, (to-moeuow) Ist January, 1867: I. —TOWN LETTERS. Posted at any Post Office within the Colony for delivery at or from such Post Office— Not exceeding half-an-ounco One Penny Exceeding half-an-ounce but not exceeding one ounce Twopence Por every ounce or fraction of an ounce over one ounce Twopenee II. —COUNTRY LETTERS.
