The N.Z.B.N. Company's b.s. Storm Bird, Captain Gleadow, left Auckland at U a.m. on the 6th inst.; arrived at Tauranga on the 7th', left on the Bth, and arrived at Poverty Bay on the morning of the 9th. Left at 3-30 a.m. on the 10th, and arrived here at 4'30 p.m. The s.s. Star of the South, Captain Wm, Bendall, arrived here early on Tuesday morning last, from Auckland, with full general cargo, 16 horses, and 6 passengers. She left Napier at 3 pan. on 2nd inst.; had fine weather throughout, snd arrived at the Tamakl at 5 p.m. on the Ith; landed all her stock in first-rate order and without loss. Left for Napier at 8 p.m. on the Bth inst. Had moderate southerly irinds and fine weather to White Island, when the wind veered a-head, blowing strong, with heavy head sea. At 4 sm. on the 10th rounded the East Cape. Had light variable winds and southerly swell down the coast as far as Poverty Bay, when the wind came from the N.E., blowing fresh. Anchored at Wangawehl at 7-30 p.m., hut finding the sea too heavy to take off wool, proceeded on her voyage at 9'30 p.m, and arrived here at 7 a.m. on Tuesday last, 11th inst. Captain Bendall reports the cnfter Sea Belle as lying at Wangawehj, and in a very had position if it came on to blow during the night. „ . . „ . The schooner Henry, B. Baxter, master, sailed for WaiBari on Monday last. „ . . The cutter Bittern, Goldsworthy, master, sailed for Waiapu on Monday last. .. , The cutter Mahia, W. E. M’Kenrie, master, sailed for Auckland on Tuesday last. The P, N-Z-, and A.B.M. Company’s s.s. Depastures. —December 3—Anno Melhuisb, barque, for Newcastle, N.S.W.; o— Storm Bird, s.s., for Tauranga and Napier; 8— Star of the South, s.s., for Napier.
The s.s. Beautiful Star, Captain Morwiok, arrived at the Tamaki on the morning of the 7th inst., discharged her cargo of stock (in good order and without loss, as usual), and then steamed up harbor, and-anchored off the North Shore, preparatory to being placed on the patent slip to receive a thorough overhaul.
The schooner Kauri had cleared for Napier with 20,000 feet timber, I ton sugar, 10 half-cases gin, 1 cask porter, 1 cask ale, and 2 passengers; but, in consequence of the prevalence of-north-easterly winds, she had not left dp to the latest date (Bth inst.) The schooner Rose Ann had also cleared for Mahia, but had been detained for the same reason. The brigantine Belle arrived at Auckland on the 4th Instant, having been eight days on the passage from Napier. The ship Chile, from London, arrived at Auckland on the 4th inst.. 114 days out from Gravesend, with 62 passengers and full cargo. The barque Kate arrived at Auckland on the 4th inst., after a good passage of eleven days from Sydney.
