THe men were marched down from Gore iirown .barracks at 8 a.m., and were shipped in boats, —the operations being superintended by Mr Kentledge, and the Caplain; and occupied only one hour and tea minutes. The men of the I4th were greatly respected in this town, where they have passed so many happy days, and although there were, as a matter oi course some “ black sneep" among their number, we feel sure the good wishes of the people of Hawke’s Hay will follow them wherever they may be stationed.
