~~~ AUCKLAND. LITE STOCK MASKSTS, 31 esses Hunter & Co.’s Report for week ending 10th August. We hare to report that at our yards on Monday, fat cattle, were in fair supply ; prices ruled about 45s the lOOlbs. The supply of good qualities short of tho requirement g. Store cattle were in good supply, and brought high rates. The demand still continues great for young stock. Dairy cows : There was a large show of this class of stock. Good cows near calving are much in demand, and bring high rates, from £l7 to £23 each. Sheep Mabket. — W e had a large market of fat cheep, both ofhalf-breds andmerinos; prices were food. A lot of medium quality half-breds, from Wanganui, ranged from 26s to 33s each. Merino provincial fattened medium qualities from 22s to 23s 6d each. Lambs, from 16s to 19s 6d each. Pigs were in good supply. One superior animal brought £7 10s, some others £4 10s each. O isHtmu Saxe. —Tljera was a fair show at this marlittof store cattle and dairy cows j they sold freely, and brought about the same prices as at Newmarket.

Hoesb Market. —We had a largo show of horses at our yards on Saturday, principally light harness and saddle horses. Prices, wc consider, were a shade better than what they have been for some weeks past. There is a considerable demand at present for good light harness and saddle horses. Prom 50 60 head were sold. A few medium draught horses brought fair prices. Hat and Grain Market.— During the week we sold the Zillah’s cargo of maize from Tahiti, at 5s 5d per bushel. Peed oats, 6s; seed oats, 7s 6d per bushel; meadow hay, £4 10s to £3 per ton. Ma Bcckland’s ßeport for the week ending 10th August. At the Haymarket on Saturday last fodder was in usual supply and without alteration in price, bringing 4s 0d to 5s the cwt. Maize, 6s the bushel. Horse stock ofiered in limited numbers, and sales were more free. Best draught wore in better enquiry. Tho highest price obtained, £45, showing a considerable advance on the prices ruling for some time past. At the Triangle on Tuesday, there was a good competition for cows, ex Star of the South. They were quiet and of large frame, and brought an average of £3 7s. At the Haymarket, on Thursday, fat cattle were in usual supply, of good quality, and generally heavy weight. Last weeks rates ruled. Few store cattle offered. The ewes and lambs brought 30s each owe. Pat sheep pens all filled, but many pens of indifferent quality; for those there was no sale, and they were passed. Well fatted sheep in demand and last week’s advance sustained. Yery few pigs were brought forward.
