By way of Sydney, we have one day’s later news from San Francisco. The Morning Herald of the 24tb May published news to the 25th March inclusive, by the Sorata. On the 21st May we published by the: Princess Alice, news to the 24th March in-! elusive. The only items of political news! are the following, and the Chilian war newsj which will be found below;— | THE HAWAIIAN ISLANDS. j By the barque Comet, twelve days from! Honolulu, we (Alta California) have papers! from that port to the 3rd of March. i The orange crop at Kona will amount to two million oranges. A Russian vessel has arrived at Stika, with 1,600 barrels of oil, and 18,0001 b of, bone. . i Bolivia allies herself with Chili and Peru for offence and defence,and Meljarejo initiates his new firm establishment in the country by this first act of loyalty to the South American cause. PERU. Peru busily prepares to take her full share of the war. Lay and night preparations are being pushed forward, and for the defence of Callao we will have eight torpedoes ready in the course of next month. The makers of those torpedoes are the same who made the awful weapons which did the work for the Albemarle in the late American war.
