STURT. The Colonial Government paddle steamer Sturt, Captain Fairchild, left Napier on the 30th nit., at 9 p.m., for Wellington and Wanganui, having on board Colonel Russell, Native Minister, and Captain Percival, Paymaster of the Colonial Forces; also some 83 men belonging to the Wanganui Cavalry and Patea Rangers. Arrived at Wellington at 1 a.m. on the Ist June, and landed the Native Minister and Paymaster ; and left for Wanganui the same afternoon. Arrived at Wanganui on tho morning of the 2nd, landed the troops, and steamed for Wellington same afternoon, where she arrived on the morning of the 3rd. Left Wellington at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, 6th June ; rounded Cane Palliser at S p.m., and arrived in the roadstead at 730 p.m. on the 7ih ; entered the Iron Pot at 9 a.m. on Friday, S:h. On Saturday, Oth inst., took in some stores, sheep, &c., and went outside about p.m. Remained in the roadstead till midnight,when she steamed fur Wairoa. MISCELLANEOV". A brig—in all probability the Maggie, from Sydney—was observed to be working up tho Pay during the whole of yesterday. She brought up in the roadstead late last evening. The s s. Star of the South, which left for Poverty Bay on Thursday last with a cargo of sheep, returned to port on Saturday last. The ship Veritas, from London, arrived at Wellington on the 3rd inst., after a passage of 111 days. Had moderate weather throughout the trip. She brought a large general cargo, but no passengers. The schooner Celt may be daily expected here from Auckland. She was to have sailed on the 2nd inst. The s.s. Claud Hamilton may bo expected here f-oni Auckland on Tuesday (to-morrevyj, and will soil fur Southern Ports on Wednesday, 13th inst, at noon, with the return English mail. The s.s. Wellington may bo expected here from Southern ports on Monday next, 18th inst. She v, ill leave for Auckland at noon on Tuesday, tho 19th inst.
