WAIROA SHIPPING.

[Feom; oue own coeebspondent.] 4th May. Aeiuveq. —26th, Hero, ketch, Campbell, from Napier, gciisrsi. car^o. Sailed.— 27, Hero, ketch, Campbell, for Napier. Vessels Expected. —Jane, schooner, from Auckland; Ease Ann, schooner, from Auckland; Bittern, cutter, from Auckland, Vessels in Haems.— Huntress p.s., Lady Bird, Vivid, schooners, and Taraipine, ketch, —all from Napier. 27th ApriL The river is not properly speaking closed, but there is so little water on the bar that only vessels with u very light draught of water can go in or Out. The only arrival during the week has been the ketch Hero, on Thursday last, from NapiePj which vessel sailed again to-day, (Friday). The * Huntress ’ is going to be laid up ; and the Lady Bird, Yivid, and Taraipine all await a favorable change in the state of the bar to slip off to Hapier. There are several vessels from Auckland with timber daily expected here. It is satisfactory to find that, despite the war (?) and its natural depressing influence, trade seems tp be on the increase. 4th May, I am in hopes that the vessels in harbor will be able to put to sea in two or three days at the longest. The river is completely closed, though last night it rose about three feet. I think that about Monday the new channel will be open.
