MELBOURNE. sth April. The M'Culloch Ministry are yet in office, but the difficulty between the Houses of Parliament seems likely to be brought to a narrower issue. Mr Hugh George, of the Argus, is still in confinement, and the prison rules are stringently enforced. SYDNEY. 2nd April. Mr M'Lcay has given notice of motion in the Assembly that £55,000 per annum is too much for New South Wales to pay as a subsidy for the Panama mail service. A new quartz reef near Sofala has yielded 1100 ounces of gold from eight tons of stone. The up and down coast mail has been stuck up near Wollongong, The passengers were gagged and robbed. ADELAIDE. 3rd April. The ship Prince Arthur was found on fire this morning. The steward was suffocated in his berth. No serious damage has been done to the ship.
