ST. HILDA. The s.s. St. Hilda left Wellington at 5 p.m. on the 7th inst. ; experienced strong breeze and heavy head sea to Castle Point, and light and variable winds during the remainder of the passage—arriving in the roadstead at midnight on the Bth. During her stay in Wellington the St. Hilda has been thoroughly overhauled both in hull and machinery ; a new propeller has also been fitted, which is found to increase her speed materially. She is temporarily under the command of Captain Kennedy, of the Marine Board.
