18G5.—November 13th, 20th, 27th December 3rd, 10th, 18th, 21th, and 31st [N.B. —If the day marked prove calm and still mistrust the day after, and especially the second day after.] The changes vary in intensity, but even at quiet periods they may bo plainly traced in the scud liymg with a velocity totally at variance with the state of the air at the earth’s surface, and the clouds at such times generally have a liny or stratified appearance, which usually indicates-ap-proaching rain. s.
