AUCKLAND. LIVE STOCK MARKET. Mr A. Btjcklasd’s report for the week ending Novembers. At the Hajmarket, on Saturday last, hay was not so plentiful as usual, and prices were without alteration. Maize was offered in abundance, but sales were limited in extent. Prices obtained were —for Sydney maize, ss, and New Zealand maize from 4s 6d to 4s 9d per bushel. 140 sacks were sold. A large number of young horse stock was sold. Por well-bred riding horses there was a good competition, but draft stock were comparetavely dull of sale. There were many enquiries for the thoroughbreds, and a fair competition. Orion brought £22 10s; Satellite, £4l ; and the Heather liell filly, £23 10s. Draft horses, from £25 to £35 each. At the Triangle, on Tuesday, there was a fair muster of store cattle, and prices were higher than previous weeks, for grown cattle fully 30s per head. Several dairy cows were offered, and sold at higher rates than have lately ruled at Newmarket. The long-wooled ewes and lambs brought £3 IGs the couple ; half-bred ewes and lambs, 47s the couple. At Newmarket, on Thursday, there were no good dairy cows offered; medium cows brought from £9 to £lO each. Store cattle were scarce. The advance obtained on Tuesday was fully maintained. About 100 head fat cattle, generally of

good quality, were penned, but the demand wa# not equal to the supply, and about 50 head remained unsold, and those quitted were at a decline of fully 40s per head under late markets. Fat calves were in usual supply, but 10s. lower in price per head. A pen of half-bred ewes and lambs brought 435. the couple. Fat sheep, principally merino wethers, were plentiful, and for those last week’s prices were obtained. Fat halfbred and Leicester sheep were lower in price. Lambs were in large supply and of good quality. They were freely purchased at fully kte rates, being from 16s. 6d. to 28s. 6d. each. .Pigs were not plentiful, and generally of a coarse description; they were in demand. Mesees Hheteb asp Co.’s report for the- week ending November 3. _ We have to report that fat cattle have mush changed in price this last week, on Monday wa considered they were £2 a head lower than they have been for the last three months, the permanent decline in price will' be regulated by what shipments come to hand. Store cattle were short in supply, but prices were considerably higher than last week, the demand is still good for°this class of stock.

Daisy Cows.—There was a fair number of cows in the market, prices have an upward tendency, all to hand were sold.

Veal Calves. —The market was well supplied, all to hand were sold at good prices. Sheep Mabeet. —There was a small market of fat sheep and lambs, all to hand were sold, some good qualities brought a good price. OrAHUHU Sale. —There was but a small market at Otahuhu, prices ruled about the same as at Newmarket.

Papakuba Sale,—We had a larger show of store cattle at this market than we hare had for some time, most of them were sold at about the same prices that ruled at Newmarket on Monday. Hoese Sale We had a fair show of horses oa Saturday last, prices were a ahade lower than the previous week, most of those to hand we disposed of. We sold the race horses Weka, Princess Sophia, and Fish, at the reserve prices. Draught still continue more depressed in price than any other description of horse stock. Wo sold several lots of maize at 5s 6d and 5s 3d : hay. £5 to £6 a ton. J

Sheep—stores, 19s 6d to 24s ; Fat sheep, 35s to 42s ; half fat, 25s to 30s. Horses—hacks and light harness horses, £9 to £ls ; drought horses, good, £4O to £SO ; medium £2O to 30.
