The favorite schooner Success, Captain Frost, left Auckland on the 22nd August, with a light uor-west wind. Arrived at Kennedy’s Bay on tlie 24th to load timber, where she remained six days. On the 30th took her departure for Napier. Had strong sou-west winds to the East Cape, off which she was on Friday, the Ist instant. Arrived in the roadstead on the morning of Saturday, 2nd inst. While of the East Cape, sighted the s.s. St. Kilda. laying off the laud to the eastward of the Cape. The brigantine Elizabeth, Captain Bell, left Newcastle on the morning of the ISth August, aud arrived here on the morning of Saturday, 2nd instant—having been 15 days on the trip. She came through Cook’s Straits. The s.s. Beautiful Star, Captain Morwick, arrived about noon this day, from Auckland—having left tttt port on the evening of Friday last.
