AUCKLAND LIVE STOCK MAEKET. HCMtK AND CO.’S WEEKLY LIVE STOCK REPORT. August 12. We had a full market of fat cattle at Newmarket on Mon day, which were all sold. The high prices that have keen ruling are fully maintained ; host qualities brought 50s the lOOlbs. The supply of fat cattle in the Province is very short; youpg stock is selling freely, two year olds brought £S each; a few sis months old heifer calves brought °i!2 12s 6d; dairy cows area shade fpwep in price, we sold one lot near calving, at from £l4 to £l6 5s each. Sheep Market.—We had, full market medium quality sheep, which were all disposed of. The market was barely supplied with best qualities; stores sold from 17s to 21s each; medium qualities fat from 24s to 29s each; best qualities from 30s to 35s each. Horse Market.—We had a fair supply of horses in the market;several heavy draught horses were disposed of but at rather low prices; hacks still continue low in price' Light harness horses were in belter demand, and slightly improved in price. Wr sold several loads of hay, at from £5 to £6 10s a ton • Sydney maize, at Ss Gd a bushel; oats at 4s 6d a bushel. ’ The following prices have ruled during the weekßest quality fat cattle, 50s the lOOlbs; steers, two year old, £8 • dairy cows, £l4 to £l6 15s each. Sheep— store sheep, 17s to 20s each; fat do,, medium qualities. 24s to 2Ss each ■ best qualities, from 30s to 35s each. In the horse market during the past week but little business lias been transacted : those sold show variation in prices, maize brings 5s Gd to 6s; oats, 4s to 4s Gd the bushel. Fat cattle have offered more abundantly, but prime animals have fully maintained their place; for inferior qualities prices are easier, A largo number of stores have changed hands at much higher prices than ruled a month since, and the price is likely to rule higheryet for the grazing districts An s-yepage quality sold freely at late Figs wore In Cub supply of good quality, and in demand.
