PRESIDENT DAVIS CONVICTED OP TREASON. Thb Melbourne Argus gives the folloowing later telegram of American news:— Galle, June 20. President Davis has been tried and convicted of treason, but his fate is still uncertain. President Johnson has issued a proclamation declaring that evidence was in the possesion of the Government which shows that the murder of Lincoln and and the attempted assasination of Seaward were incited, concerted, or procured by Jetferson Davis, Jacob Thompson, Clement E. Clay, Beverly Tucker, Orott Sanderson, W C. Cleary and other rebels, who were declared traitors against the Government of the united states, and said to be harbored in Canada. Besides the 100,000 dollars offered for the apprehension of Davis, 10,0(0 was offered for Cleary, and 25,000 for others. All the persons named in this proclamation are in Canada, excepting DuVis. It. is said that the Government in Washington *ould demand of the Canadian GO' vennuoni. their surrender. Tucker, Saunders, and Cleary .indignantly denied all .knowledge of the matter, while Saunders and Tucker retaliated, be accusing Johnson of concerting a plot for thamur*. der of Davi*.
