The s.B. Trrarua arrived here at S-30 a.m, on Sunday fro.n the Southern ports of New Zealand. She left Nelson «t 4 p.rn. on the ?rd instant, and Tor tho first part of the passage experienced head winds; towards the close it became more favorable and fine weather throughout. By the steamship Tararua wo learn from reliable sources that there was a large amount of gold in the hands of the diggers at the Hokitika diggings, and that freights for that port from Nelson were ranging from £lO to £l2 per ton; the want cf light steamers was much felt, and such a class of vessels would find plenty of employment.—S. JL Herald, July 19.
Among the vessels loading in England for this colony vre observe that the barque Sunbeam, Captain Lovell, 442 tong, is one, for Auckland and Napier. She belongs to the spirited firm of Shaw,’Savill and Co, and was to leave St. Katherine's Socks on the sth Hay.
