GARDEN CALENDAR FOR FEBRUARY.

Plant some young cabbage plants pretty thick to come In for colworts; sow also some cabbage seeds in beds, which must be kept watered in dry weather; continue to sow and transplant lettuce and endive; keep beds of old and young asparagus clear from weeds with the hand; examine the beds of keeping or bulbing onions; pull them up as soon as the tops are decayed; gather seeds of all kinds as soon as ripe: look to the wall trees, cut out all useless shoots, and nail the others close to the wall; keep all fruit-tree borders clean from weeds; continue budding, and, after the bud is inserted, tie a cabbage leaf over it to protect it from the rays of the sun. Sow polyanthus and auricula seed, and transplant triennial and biennial plants in showery weather; mow grass walks and lawns.—Bull's Wellington Almanac.
