At Mr. Jaxiscu’s sale on Tuesday. 24th inst., the attendance was good, and the prices obtained more than could have been expected from the heavy stocks at present in the market. We quote some of the prices:—Lobsters, doz., 10s 9d; herrings, (lib tins) doz., 12s; oysters, doz., 13s; salmon, (lib tins) 10s; pale brandy in qr.-casks, 9s tp- gallon, under bond; Sydney mould candles, 6d. lb ; Devonshire cider, 16s’■(?-doz.; tea, in half-chests, £4; Colman’s blue, 4Jd B>; galvanized buckets, 37s per doz.; linseed oh, 4s 6d per gallon; blankets, 13s per pair; Mauritius sugar, 4-Jd per lb; cheese, lOd. per lb; port wine. 10s 6d per gallon under bond; sherry, 10s 9d under bond; geneva, half-cases, 10s 3d: sardines, in qr.-tins,7s 6d; Sydney soap, 38s cut; toilet tables, 13s; easy chairs, £3 11s; arm chair, £1; stretchers, 6s 6d each; Windsor chairs, 5s each; writing desk, £1 Is; chest drawers, £10; washstand, £1 18s; clock, 245; saddle, £4 15 ; comet-a-piston, £2 10; 1 fowling-piece, £5 ss.
