LATEST NEWS. The Wanganui Chronicle of the 22nd instant contains the following items of Northern news:— By the Susannah Cuthbert, which arrived this afternoon, the two remaining companies of the 57th Regiment have come from Taranaki. The 18th and 50th Regiments are expected here immediately. It is said that they will occupy the town, and the 57th is to proceed northwards. The road between this and Taranaki is to be commenced as soon as these regiments arrive. Mr Man tell has taken office as Native Minister.'
