CORRESPONDENCE.

To the Editor of the HatcJce's Bay Times.

Sir, —I suppose you will hear all about our voting yesterday here from some more fit person. However, I will just tell you what I know r . But who shall tell the many secret moves and dodges of the Super, and his party. Would you believe it, Mr. Alexander, though still on his crutches, came all the way from his home in pain and, peril to vote for the Government candidate. He also sent notes to us here, begging our votes for their man. It is said he was stirred up to act ty a special messenger sent over from the Super, on Sunday last. Captain Carter, we hear, who has a .£1 a day of public money, walked to Petane to vote there against Mr. Bousfield, —his nephew. Captain Anderson, of the Defence Troop, coming here to do the same against his old friend. Captain Rhodes came here of course to vote for his man. Late in the day, J. M. came out from town, post haste, galloping for dear life, to vote for Rhodes’ man. Some say Jack was sent, and could not help himself. But of all things our Meanee H. : s were most true and constant ; one H. couldn't see to vote for Mr. Bousfield because he had a beef contract in his eye, and the other H. couldn’t tell how to vote for Mr. Bousfield because he had just found out, after ten years’ acquaintance, he was deaf. If you enquire you will hear of more. I remain, yours, &c., Afir.iVP.K Fuats. Meanee, Tuesday, Bth March. N.B.—Why was the election notice withdrawn from the Government paper of Saturday ?
