New Blood Stock tor Victoria. —The Age says :—Wo learn that Mr. Thomas Chirnside, at the sale of Sir Tafcton Sykes stock in September last, purchased no fewer than fifty-fife mares, colts, and geldings of the purest blood that England has produced. They are by Sir Hercules, Rataplan, Stockwcll, Daniel O’Rourke, Sleight-of-hand, and other well-known sires, out of some of the most aristocratic dams. The total sum paid was close upon £6,000. These are all to be imported into this colony, and may fairly bo expected to cause an almost entire revolution incur racing stock. Experiments in Scab Specific.—The half-do-zen sheep, which were on the 30th October dipped in a solution of Allen’s specific for scab, have remained ever since on the ground attached to the Government stores. King-street, where they have been inspected by a number of persona interested in the result of the experiment. They were yesterday subjected to a re-dipping, although by some gentlemen who had seen them on the previous day, such a step was deemed unnecessary, and the disease was pronounced to be quite cured.
