Sir, —Can you inform me whether it is true that Captain Rucbanan, N.R.V., is a candidate for the vacant seat in the Town of Napier ? I heard so the other day ; but I trust such is not the case. If it does, however, unfortunately prove to be the case, I do hope the electors will have the good 1 sense to keep this ambitious man out of the Council. Yours, &c., SNOOKS. P.S.—I would suggest to Capt. R. that ho would be much better employed in making himself perfect in his drill; for I hear he is not A 1 at that fun. S
