GOLD FROM THE BULLER.—TIIE 520 Z. NUGGET. —The steamer Sturt, which arrived from the Bailor yesterday, brought up with her nearly 1,000 oz . of gold, about loOozs. of winch were from Colhngwood. The gold from the Bidler is mostly in nuggets and amongst it is the s*2oz. nugget of which we have already spoken, another of ISozs., one of llozs, one of Bozs., and several nuggets of loz. and upwards. The large gold has chiefly been purchased by the Bank of New Zealand, and the nuggets may, for the nest few days, be seen at our office. We learn from enquiries w’e have made, that the 108 oz. nugget was a reality, and that it has been taken away by one of the party who found it. The accounts from the Buller stale, that all the diggers are doing well there, but the scarcity of fresh animal food is felt as a great hardship. There had been a very heavy flood in the river, and no canoes had been able to ascend it for several days, although a small fleet were on their passage up. —Eelson Examiner, Nov. 24. Singular Birth. —A day or two ago Mrs. Thomas, wife of Mr. J. H. Thomas, of the Horse and Jockey, Waimea West, gave birth to two female children, united by a ligament attached to the side of each of the infants similar to the band which united the celebrated Siamese twins. Both the children were still-born, and we are sorry to hear that the mother is in a precarious condition. Colonist, Nov. 24. Hone Pokiei, the natiye charged with the murder of William Grant, at the Pelorus, has been found guilty and sentenced to death.
