LONDON WOOL REPORT.— Sept. 24.

Since the close of tne sales the few contracts made here have been chiefly for sorts, with the exception of Cape, which has been bought from first hands to a moderate extent, to supply an order from the north of Europe.

The market, however, is very firm ; the brisk business quoted as doing" in all the northern market lias imparted much confidence to holders, who are indisposed to sell except at an advance of Id to lf>d.

There is no speculative feeling whatever, and the stock of wool in first and second hands will be ample to last until the new clip. The actual arrivals are 45,000 hales which with old stock and expected arrivals will make a closing sale for the year of about 75,000 to 80,000 bales. It is expected that the next sales will commence either on the 291 h October or sth November.

Judging from the advices from Leeds, Huddersfield, and Bradford, there will be a good inquiry for all sorts particularly middle to average descriptions, ranging from Is. 7d. to lOd. At Rochdale there is an enormous trade doing, so we look for strong support thence.

English wools are dearer with a very firm market, same bright-haired sorts reaching 2s. Id. the longest price that has been paid for many years.

The consumption of fine colonial does not equal expectation ; on the contrary, all halfbaed and coarse strong wools are much sought after.

The general impression is that wool will be dearer, say to the extent of Id on the average rates current at the recent sales -Home News.
