To the Editors of the Hawke's Bay Herald and Hawke's Bay Times.
Gf.xtx.emek, —As you do not seem to be able to decide who is the best of your pets for the prize, viz., the seat for the Country Districts: one seeing so much to admire in his heavy, the other better satisfied with the good qualities of the light weight—would it not be as well that your united efforts were used with the Superintendent, for the immediate issue of a writ, that tiie Electors may have an opportunity of showing whom they consider the best man. There is little doubt of a speedy decision being arrived at in favor of the light weight, as although our heavy friend may be considered in town well worthy of £350 per annum, with nothing to do, understood ; he could not possibly be the favorite and proper representative of the small Countrv Settler. STAND EASY. November lltli, ISR3.
