THE WAIKATO NATIVES AND APARO.

A “friendlv” native, named Morohea, of Waiheke, arrived in town yesterday, and brought the following item of information with respect to the doings ot the Waikatos. He states that Tamihana Tarapipipi had left for Waikato, to see Aparo’s friends there ; that a meeting of chiefs was to take place this week at Ngaruawahia, to decide upon Aparo’s case, and that if they found that he had been wronged, they would demand payment from the Government; which means, as our informant states, that they will take means to secure Aparo’s restoration tn liberty. We suspect our dusky friends will find that that is easier said than done.— Laih/ Southern Cross , July 7-
