The steamer expected from Wellington had not arrived at the hour of our going to press this morning, and up to this time we are without the February English mail. Whilst all the other Provinces of New Zealand are in possession of the mail unfortunate Hawke’s Bay must wait patiently until she can get hers, although she pays for the accommodation through both General and Provincial Governments. By no Means Bad. —The following conundrum and answer appears in the Taranaki Herald of the 25th instant:—Why does’nt Sir George Grey effect an insurance on his life in this Province ?—Because there is no one in the place who can make out his policy. —Wellington Advertiser.
