The English Opera Company paid a flying visit to Napier on Saturday last, and, greatly to the gratification of the people of Napier, gave perhaps the best musical treat ever heard in this Province. Overland to Auckland. —On Saturday last, Mr. McHardy and three others started overland for Auckland with a herd of cattle, but a messenger overtook thorn on Sunday, informing them that, in consequence of the news received by the steamer as to the disturbed state of the Waikato district, it would be unsafe for them to proceed, and they returned. Arrangements have since been made, we understand, with some of the Tarawera natives to drive the cattle to Auckland.
