We would remind our readers, especially those who have claims to prefer for the electoral roll, that such claims must be sent in before the end of this present month (March,) otherwise they will be too late for the present year’s enrolment. For the information of those who are ignorant of the law respecting persons eligible as voters, we take the following digest from the Advertiser : — Every man who is 21 years of age, who has been in possession of a freehold of the value of £SO, or who holds a leasehold of the annual value of £lO, or a householder who has resided six months in a house, ef the annual value of £lO if within a town, or of £5 if outside a town, is entitled to vote at elections, provided he bo duly registered. Every man who believes himself entitled to a vote must send in his'claim to the Registration Officer of the District before the end of March in any given year. The claim must bo filled up in the prescribed form, and be signed in the presence of an elector, who will also have to attach his signature to it, stating whether he is a freeholder or householder of the Colony. Persons at present on the roll will be liable" to have changed their residences or qualifications since they were last registered and should, therefore, send in new claims to the Registration officer.
