Waipukurau Races. —We were favored last evening, by a gentleman just returned from Waipukurau, with the result of the first day’s running. The Maiden Produce Stakes were won very easily by Brown Stout. Rover was scratched.—The Waipukurau Stakes were won by Hurricane, Euclid pushing him hard and coming in a good second.—For the Ladies’ Purse four horses started, Hurricane and Camelia being drawn. In the first heat Te Whatu came in a long way ahead of the rest, but on going to the scales his jock was found underweight, and he was disqualified, and the heat was given to Toware, the others having pulled up. The second and third heats were won by Brown Stout. The Mails for the South intended to be forwarded by the Storm Bird were, from some unaccountable cause, left behind
