RESIDENT MAGISTRATE’S COURT.

Thursday, Feb. 19. J, A. Smith v. Triphook. A claim for AlO. —This claim was for a subscription promised by Messrs. Triphook & Wright in aid of the Milton road at Napier and which was guaranteed by the plaintiff. The defendant pleaded that when he promised the money, it was not for a road to be made though private property as had been partly done in the Militon road but stilhwould willingly do so when a deed of conveyance was executed by the properties and registered in favor of the Superintendent and which deed had not been executed. Judgment for plaintiff for the whole amount and costs, 15s.
