CORRESPONDENCE.
To the Editor of the Hawke's Say Times.
Sie, —Now that Wood has lost his seat ■on account of his being a contractor, for I can tell you there is no mistake about it, as my chum heard Mr. Wilson, the Government solicitor, tell another gentleman that Wood has but just signed the bond and all that since his election ; well, as I dare say ’Wood will try again, I should just like to ask a question, and I don’t mean him or anybody else any harm in asking it. Now, this is it, —Did not James Wood say a little before the last election that he would not have come forward but for to keep out such men as John Begg and Peter Searles ? Now, I have heard this thing said more ■ than once, and I and others should like to know whether it be true or not. I remain your humble servant, J. S.
