A T a Meeting held at Mr. Ferrers's the Star AjL Hotel, on Monday, the sth inst., the following gentlemen were appointed to act as Stewards at the ensuing Races, viz.— W. Rich, .Esq., Capt. Vivian, W. Parker, Esq., J. D. Canning, Esq., G. S. Cooper Esq. The Races were fixed for Thursday and Friday, the sth and 6th March next. The Meeting was then adjourned to Friday next, at 8 p.m., to be held at Mr. Ferrers' sforthe purpose of deciding as to the Programme, the Course, and other matters. NEW ZEALAND POSTAL SERVICE. IN PURSUANCE of the provisions of an Act of the General Assembly of Now Zealand, intituled the “ The Regulations of Elections Act, 1858,” I, Robert Riddell, Returning Officer for the Electoral District of Mohaka, DO HEREBY GIVE NOTICE that by virtue ot a Writ bearing date the sth day of December, 1862, issued under the hand of his Excellency the Governor of New Zealand, an Election will be held for the return of ONE qualified person to serve as a Member of the Provincial Council for the said Electoral District, and that the nomination of Candidateswill take place at Messrs. Richardson & Frame’s house, Mohaka, on Saturday, the 10th day of January, 1863, and (hat the poll (if necessary) will bo taken on Monday, the 12th day of January, 1863, and that I will declare the same at the close thereof, at Messrs.
