To ihe Editor of ihe ILuiTe ,<t Bn;/ Times. Sin, —On my arrival in this part of the colony, one thing struck me very forcibly, and that is—when a mail arrives on Sunday from the South, the General and Sub-Post Offices are thrown open for delivery of letters. In New South Wales, Victoria, and the Middle Island such is not the case. Why should it be in Napier ? Mercantile

or private correspondence cannot necessarily be of such importance that the merchants and tradesmen require to have their letters before Monday morning. When the new Post Office is completed and opened, the Chief Postmaster should determine henceforth that no delivery be made on the Sunday, which day ought to be kept sacred. I remain, sir, yours truly, Mercantile. Napier, Hdth December, 1862.
